Atlanta 2022 Summer Crew
SCA’s 2022 Atlanta High School Summer Program will have an aﬃnity crew for self-identifying African American high school members, aged 14-19, working in natural areas throughout the Metro Atlanta region. For eight weeks, Crew Members will learn conservation job skills in ecological restoration and will engage in rewarding and valuable physical work outdoors on projects including trail construction and rehabilitation, natural resource management, and park beautification projects. Members will get the experience to work in three National Parks: Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, and Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, as well as work in multiple Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation sites! These paid positions will integrate hands-on restoration work, job skill development, and conservation education. Throughout each week, time will be devoted to learning about the local ecology and environment, conservation career exploration, as well as building teamwork and leadership skills.
