Join the team at Cowpens National Battlefield Park, primarily working in the Visitor Services Division. In order to gain valuable experience, the selected intern will explore the career opportunities available in the NPS by shadowing other divisions as well. The intern will be exposed to duties in all of the divisions at the park (10% of their time). They will research and write an article for the website, create social media posts, and create a video that can be used for virtual programs (30% of their time.) The intern will also have the chance to lead weekly battlefield walks (10% of their time). The intern who attains this position will create a program based on what they have learned and present it to high school students in the Fall (40% of their time).

- $1,100 one-time travel allowance (pre-tax) (personal vehicle required)
- $600 / week living allowance (pre-tax)
- Housing provided by NPS
Conditions of Employment:
Beginning on 1/18/22, all new SCA volunteer program participants are required to provide proof of up to date vaccination against COVID-19. Per CDC guidance, up to date vaccination now includes all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when indicated. For example, if someone has completed the primary series but is not yet indicated for a booster shot, they are considered up to date. Once a person is indicated for a booster (6 months after Pfizer or Moderna primary series, 2 months after J&J primary series), full and up-to-date vaccination includes the completed booster shot. Cowpens National Battlefield is a unit of the National Park Service just east of Chesnee, South Carolina, and near the state line with North Carolina. It preserves a major battlefield of the American Revolutionary War.

The intern will have the opportunity to complete training on the NPS Content Management System to add accessible content to the Cowpens National Battlefield website.
