Position ID
Your duties will include: greeting and orienting visitors to the Visitor Center and to the refuge; supporting refuge recreation and volunteer programs; developing and providing interpretive and environmental education programs for all ages; assisting with planning special events. Your duties will also include helping with the maintenance of visitor services facilities including boat trails, shelters, and signs. In addition, there will be opportunities to work with the biologists and foresters on wildlife surveys and forest inventory.
  • Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is located in southern Georgia. the 407,000 acre refuge is managed to provide an excellent Wilderness experience and for the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker along with associated active wildlife species. The refuge staff works as a team in a variety of programs including fire management, forestry, wildlife monitoring, visitor services and maintenance. Staff also provide support for Banks Lake NWR located in Lanier County.
