Pecos NHP recently completed the rehabilitation of the large, Santa Fe trail era building known as the Trading Post. In the fall of 2022, this building will open as park’s second visitor center. To facilitate long term planning, we hope to enlist the help of an SCA intern to gather data visitation patterns at the Trading Post. This data will assist park management in refining future staffing strategies. The intern will also draft Trading Post specific standard operating procedures, develop a volunteer staffing strategy, staff the contact station, participate in the ribbon cutting and open house special events and otherwise participate in regular interpretive programming at Pecos NHP.
