Do you want to spend your summer working hard to maintain trails in sometimes difficult but always beautiful settings?

The Monongahela National Forest is seeking an intern to assist in the maintenance of over 400 miles of trail within the northern portion of the Monongahela National Forest.

The candidates for this position must be comfortable working long hours under continuously physically demanding conditions. Hiking up to ten miles per day while working and occasional overnight stay, sometimes for 3-4 consecutive nights will be required. Prior experience with crosscut saws, chainsaws, and trail maintenance techniques with hand tools is a plus but not required.

Weekend work will be required. Other occasional duties may include assisting other program areas and assisting with patrol and clean-up of developed recreation sites.
