Interns will assist with the maintenance and improvement of 18 remote District recreation cabins. Primary job duties include: basic cabin maintenance, reconstruction and construction projects, preparation of reports, and compilation of field data. This position is a field based one wherein the intern will travel to remote cabin locations that are mainly accessible only by boat or float  plane. Interns will be working in cool and wet weather - and therefore will need to possess the ability to keep a good attitude during adverse conditions. In addition, because of the nature of this work, interns will need to be physically fit. 

Compensation amounts:
  • $1,500 - RT travel allowance to work site and back
  • $280 - weekly living allowance
  • $200 - one time boot stipend
  • AmeriCorps eligibility (Education award of $1,566)
  • Housing
