Work at a very busy visitor center information desk, providing park and area information while helping visitors understand and want to appropriately enjoy Arches National Park. Gain a wide range of skills and experience within the fields of interpretation and fee collection, with diverse duties including:
  • Staffing the Information desk: planning trips, answering a wide variety of questions, selling tour tickets and issuing permits; 
  • Hiking park trails in order to engage visitors in conversations about the park and their experiences;
  • Developing and conducting informal interpretive programs and roving; and
  • Other duties may include collateral office tasks, light trail maintenance, and helping with search and rescue operations.

Compensation amounts:

  • $1,100 - one time RT travel allowance
  • $160 - weekly living allowance
  • Housing

  • Arches National Park is located 5 miles from Moab, UT. Southeast Utah is a stunning landscape where red rock meets stellar blue skies in high desert country. Natural stone arches, bridges, spires, buttes, mesas and canyons are the predominant landforms with mountains dotting the background. This is the place for world-class scenery and recreation. Moab has all the necessary services and more.
  • Learn about the geology and natural & cultural history of the area as well as interpretive skills used to engage visitors. Opportunties also exist to work with other park divisons and personnel.
  • In addition to NPS training, presentations & films are presented regularly in Moab from a wide variety of groups. Moab is a mecca for multiple recreation opportunities—hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, canoeing, 4WDing and more.
