Park Guide-Integrated Resource Intern

Located on a beautiful island with white sand beaches, Fort Frederica National Monument is an ideal place to be a park guide.

This position will aid the interpretation of the story of Fort Frederica National Monument through Interpretative talks and programs as well as a variety of visitor services including greeting visitors, leading tours, and facilitating programs, sometimes for groups of 50 or more.

The intern will also assist visitors by providing information about park and area resources, lost and found, weather and directions.

Other duties will include: crowd control at park sites, incident reporting as needed, clerical work (time and attendance, travel, schedules, inventories), operate and maintain audio-visual equipment and operate park vehicles.  Light maintenance and housekeeping duties will also be assigned.  Some of these duties will be performed at the Bloody Marsh unit, which is a day use facility approximately 6 miles from the main park unit.

Working directly for the park Integrated Resource Manager, the intern will participate in and contribute to an active interpretive team. The intern selected will occasionally be engaged in outdoor activities such as trail clearance, kayaking, resource management, and living history demonstrations.  Additional duties may include assisting with museum and archival collections maintenance.
