Operations Intern

They will participate in a wide variety of conservation and recreation management activities in a state park setting.  Working under the direction of State Park professional staff, the State Parks Conservation and Recreation Internship is an opportunity designed for participants to obtain work experience in all facets of park operation.  Duties may include, but are not limited to, general clerical duties, and customer service.  Provide park information to the public.  Cleaning, maintenance and repairs to facilities, buildings, equipment, vehicles and grounds.  Operate various types of equipment including mowers, trimmers, power tools, tractors, vehicles and other equipment as needed.  Assist with agency and park programs including resource management and interpretation.  Prepare required reports.  Preform additional duties as assigned.

  • Huntsville State Park is a Texas State Park located in Huntsville, TX.
  • Candidate will be trained in all areas expected to work. Any additional training that can be offered will be during their employment.
  • This opportunity will spend a portion of the time working along side TPWD Outdoor educator assisting with educational programs. Also, this opportunity will allow candidate to have access during non working hours to experience Huntsville State Park.
