Natural Resource and Water Quality Interns for Local Candidates 

Interns will work on multiple riparian forest habitat restoration projects within City of Houston Parks. Daily tasks will include removing invasive species and installing native trees along Sims Bayou. Monthly water sampling will take place at each of the sites along with monthly volunteer workdays to restore and create forested buffers in the parks.  

*This position does not provide housing so candidates must be local or have the ability to identify their own housing in the Houston area.

Intern Living Allowance: $400.00 per week
No travel allowance

The interns in this position must accept the AmeriCorps education award.

It is SCA’s policy that all AmeriCorps-required background checks must return cleared results prior to the position’s start; this includes being fingerprinted for the FBI check. Otherwise, the AmeriCorps award will be removed or the position’s start date will be delayed due to non-compliance.

Conditions of Employment
Required to demonstrate full vaccination status for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) with a food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized or FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine;
