Facilities Administrative Support Intern

Position ID
This position, Facilities Administrative Support, is located within the Division of Facilities Management. The duties of the position are as follows:
  • Assist with data entry and data modification in the park’s Asset Management System.
  • Collect data related to assets and locations in the park. This includes buildings, campgrounds, picnic areas, and trails (above and below ground).
  • Scan various plans, documents, and manuals and convert them from paper to a “PDF” format.
  • Organize data in the park’s project and drawing files.
  • Coordinate with the NPS Electronic Technical Information Center (ETIC), which is the NPS long-term storage of electronic documents and drawings.
  • Assist with the development information needed to complete the park’s mowing safety plan.
  • Assist with the update of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for Facilities Management tasks within Mammoth Cave National Park.
  • Assist with the development of projects within the NPS Project Management Information System (PMIS).
  • Update divisional plans and procedures.
  • Assist with labeling all park assets.

  • IT Security training, Operational Leadership, webinars and other online classes that would be applicable to the intern’s position.
  • The park, being 53,000 acres in size, has a variety of recreational opportunities such as hiking, bicycling, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, and if capable, participating in Cave Research Foundation expeditions inside the cave system.
