Position ID
The Education SCA intern at Katmai National Park and Preserve will assist the park education ranger in designing curriculum and executing a strategy for outreach to Title I schools on the Alaska Peninsula. Interns will receive career training in interpretation and education. Mentored by the park’s education ranger, the intern will research and present curriculum-based in-school programs on the Alaska Peninsula. 
Living and working in remote  Alaska can be challenging. Interns must be proactive to engage with the community and enjoy the amazing natural surroundings.

Compensation amounts:

  • $1,800 - one time RT travel allowance
  • $280 - weekly living allowance
  • AmeriCorps eligible ($1,230 education award if elected)
  • Housing
