Jefferson National Parks Association is partnering with three federal agencies in the St. Louis area to introduce 4th grade students to the educational and recreational opportunities available at their sites. (National Park Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service)

An SCA intern is needed to assist with facilitating Every Kid in a Park programs for 4th grade students in local schools, coordinating site visits, and presenting education programs and activities at four sites in the St. Louis Metro Region. The sites include Gateway Arch National Park, Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, Two Rivers Wildlife Refuge, and Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
Interns will be responsible for working with education and interpretive staff at all four sites as part of a project team. The intern will reach out to area schools to promote the education programs and schedule site visits.
The long-term goals of the project are to:
1) introduce intern to education related jobs and, for some, mentor them in that direction,
2) allow intern to actively participate in a large-scale education project,
3) provide an opportunity to gain experience in partnership, outreach, and collaboration, and
4) assist in fostering a sense of stewardship of the parks and their resources.
