The Community Engagement Intern will manage educational volunteer opportunities across the state of Georgia to engage families in conservation volunteerism. The intern controls exotic plant species with herbicide application, conducts plant and animal species monitoring, and assists with efforts to harvest and plant native groundcover seed as well as tree planting. The intern may work independently or lead work teams of volunteers to ensure objectives of preserve management plans are completed and coordinate community support. To the extent schedule and weather permit, the volunteer will have educational and recreational opportunities. This internship will involve weekend work and therefore the intern will have a flexible work schedule. In addition, this intern needs to understand how to use spreadsheets and data management.
