Join the team at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, located on the historic and scenic Eastern Shore of Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay.  This internship will assist the Visitor Services Program at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.  Duties will involve developing and enhancing interpretive and outreach materials, conducting interpretive tours and programs (on foot, bicycle or kayak), providing informational assistance to visitors, as well as maintaining visitor service facilities (including trails, gardens, and signs). This position will involve working weekends, often outdoors, in hot, humid conditions with numerous biting insects.  The applicant must possess a valid driver’s license, have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Located in Dorchester County, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Blackwater is often referred to as the Everglades of the North. Nearby towns include Cambridge (15 miles), Easton (25 miles), and Salisbury (37 miles).
