Position ID
You will help operate the ranger station, provide visitor information and assistance, issue fishing and backcountry permits (60%), assist with frontcountry patrol operations, wildlife jams and emergencies, care and feeding of subdistrict livestock, and participate in area and parkwide training (30%); you will also perform resource management and assist with backcountry patrol and trail clearing (10%). EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: You will have opportunities to explore Yellowstone; learn about park backcountry operations, resource and wildlife management programs, and wildlife traffic jams (bears, elk, bison).
  • The Lamar River District is located in the Northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park. Incumbent will be based out of the Tower Backcountry Office located near Tower Junction.
