SECURE YOUR SPOT

Congratulations and welcome to the SCA Crew Program! Complete the items on this page within 2 weeks of accepting your position to secure your spot on a crew.

ALERT: All enrollment forms must be signed by a parent/guardian unless the crew member is 18 or older.

1. Read the Crew Member and Parent/Guardian Handbook

Wondering what your responsibilities are as a crew member?  Want to know the cell phone policy while you’re in the field?  Are you a parent/guardian unsure of how you’ll be able to communicate with your child during their crew?  The Crew Member and Parent/Guardian Handbook (pdf) has answers to these and many other questions. This is required reading for all crew members and their parents/guardians.

2. Complete the enrollment forms listed below

Complete all enrollment forms within 2 WEEKS of accepting your position.  All enrollment forms must be signed by a parent/guardian unless the crew member is 18 or older.  Read below for more details.

Member and Parent/Guardian Handbook Acknowledgment

Must be signed within 2 weeks of accepting your offer.

Your parent/guardian must sign this form to acknowledge that you and your parent/guardian have read the Member and Parent/Guardian Handbook and understand and agree to its contents. Only crew members who are 18 or older can sign this form for themselves. Keep your eye on your email! You or your parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to the Member and Parent/Guardian Handbook Acknowledgment form within 48 hours of accepting your position.

Medical Form

You must complete and submit the medical form within 2 weeks of accepting your offer.

You will be working hard and living in some uncomfortable conditions while on your crew. SCA needs to know your medical information so that we can be prepared to keep you safe and healthy.

  1. You and/or your parent/guardian fill out and submit the form.
You will first see the medical form when you are accepting your offer in MySCA. You can complete the form when you accept, or go back to it later in your MySCA portal (the link will be in the “Alerts” box on your Home page).
  2. Your parent/guardian signs the completed medical form.
Once you complete step 1, you or your parent/guardian will receive an email with a link to the medical form for electronic signature. Your parent/guardian needs to sign this form unless you are 18 or older.
  3. Complete any supplementary forms required.
Based on the information that you provide in your medical form, you may be emailed additional forms to complete (for example, if the member takes medications, needs a physical exam or is in counseling). If these forms are required, they will be emailed to you or your parent/guardian.
  4. SCA will review your medical form and determine if you can be cleared to participate.
  5. You can check your medical form status in your MySCA portal.

Background Check

All SCA crew members who are 18 or older (or will turn 18 before the start date of their position) are required to complete a background check.  If you are in this age group, you will receive an email from HRDocs@thesca.org with the background check form.
