The SCA’s GulfCorps Conservation Crew performs critical invasive species removal, shoreline restoration, water quality monitoring, trail work, boardwalk repair and more along the Gulf Coast. Crew members are paid hourly and receive work certifications, career development opportunities and coastal habitat restoration training. Since 2018, the GulfCorps crew has restored over 3,000 acres of habitat.

In 2021, the SCA received additional funding from the RESTORE Council to continue the program for three more years. This year, in addition to a crew in Mobile, Alabama, there will also be a crew in South Texas. Our crews also receive support from The Corps Network’s Opportunity Youth Service Initiative AmeriCorps Program, which provides members an education award to members who serve with our program.

This exciting opportunity is made possible through a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, The Nature Conservancy and The Corps Network.
