Visitor Services Intern (PO-00735123)

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and community green spaces across the country.

Join us at Fort Donelson for a memorable season connecting visitors with a Civil War battlefield located on the banks of the Cumberland River. The intern will provide visitor orientation and other visitor services including roving contacts, and film showings to enhance communication and understanding of Fort Donelson National Battlefield (FODO) and its related stories and resources. The intern will work alongside the Interpretive Park Rangers to educate park visitors about the park’s significance, assist with special events, living history events, and educational programs, and create social media content. The intern will also work with those with curatorial, resource, and other duties in assessing historic and modern maps for conversion to digital and building a resource for park use. Knowledge of utilization of historic and planning maps, and/or experience with industry-standard mapping software (ESRI) would be beneficial but is not required.
