This project is for an intern to support OHV management objectives on Sequoia National Forest for 18 weeks. The work will involve patrolling OHV routes and making visitor contacts, monitoring, maintaining and improving OHV routes and OHV nexus facilities, installing signage, installing barriers, and assisting with restoration of unauthorized routes. Assistance with additional work related to developed and dispersed recreation objectives may also be assigned. Work will involve physical exertion and be performed outdoors, and in varying weather conditions. Training will be provided in the safe operation of ATV and UTV equipment. Ideally, applicants will have previous experience riding ATVs. Work projects will also involve use of various tools, including saws, axes, loppers, pry bars, shovels, hoes, macleods, etc. The Forest Service will provide tools, safety equipment, housing, vehicles for transportation to the work site, and training necessary to safely use tools and complete assignments.
Benefits:
