NPS I&M Data Management Project Member (PO-00735278)

Work with the NPS Inventory & Monitoring Division (IMD) as a part of a team that publishes inventory and monitoring data and associated documentation. The team will periodically travel to meet network science staff in person to gather data and other necessary information, and then finalize products at the home office in Fort Collins.

Assist with QA/QC, publication, and documentation of inventory and monitoring data pertaining natural resources in National Park Service units. Resultant products (datasets and reports) are intended to support science-based management of NPS resources nationwide as well as meet NPS’ open data and open science mandates. More specifically, a conservation crew consisting of a crew lead and conservation interns will work with current NPS staff to ensure that data and reports pertaining to natural resource inventories are made available in an open and reliable format for long-term use by NPS and its partners.

Compensation (pre-tax):

  • $600/week Living Allowance
  • $1,200/month Housing Allowance (8 allotments)
  • $650 Travel Grant
  • Health Insurance offered

Training Provided: The member will have access to the LinkedIn Learning library of classes that can advance their career as well as NPS-specific training related to the use of R and data publication in support of resource management and open science.

Educational/Recreational Opportunities: Interns will be exposed to how inventory and monitoring science is used to support park resource and management activities. Fort Collins provides many opportunities for outdoor activities, shopping, entertainment, and dining out.
