Interns will assist in creating archaeological surveys and site location GIS database for multiple locations within Tulsa District. Utilizing USGS Quadrangle maps showing
survey boundaries found in multiple technical reports, the interns will create KMZ/shapefiles in Google Earth and ArcGIS Pro depicting areas previously surveyed.
Attribute tables will be populated with information related to each survey report. Funding permitting, the interns will also compare and reconcile state and USACE data
showing cultural resources site locations. Discrepancies will be researched utilizing internal USACE files to determine correct site location information.
Compensation (pre-tax):
– $260/week Living Allowance
– $950/month Housing Allowance
– To/From site travel expense reimbursement (if non-local)*
– Eligible for AmeriCorps Education Award of $4,546, received upon successful completion of position
*Internship positions with the US Army Corps of Engineers will receive a To/From Site travel reimbursement that reflects the actual roundtrip travel costs from their 'home' to the site. The reimbursement amount is based upon total distance (mileage) travelled and current federal per diem rates. Interns are required to submit an expense report to SCA with documented round-trip travel costs for reimbursement. The requested reimbursement amount is capped at $650.
