Developed Recreation Intern (PO-00735398)

Core program work will include developed recreation site operations/maintenance, on seventeen campgrounds and seven day-use sites.

Interns will work with permanent and seasonal staff to engage with volunteers on site management, construction, and partnerships to help develop a sustainable developed recreation program. Interns will need to bring a positive attitude, and willingness to work in inclement (wet) weather.

Compensation Amounts:

  • $1,500 – one time RT travel allowance
  • $300 – weekly living allowance
  • $500 – duty-related reimbursements for boots/travel
  • $256 – monthly housing allowance to pay for USFS bunkhouse costs ($1,024 total – you are expected to use this to budget for your USFS housing which you will pay the USFS for)
  • AmeriCorps eligible ($1,718.25 Education Award)

It is SCA's policy that all AmeriCorps-required background checks must return cleared prior to the position's start; this includes being fingerprinted for the FBI check. Otherwise, the AmeriCorps award will be removed or the position's start date will be delayed due to non-compliance.

C.Partner will pay the SCA to provide housing allowance for the member.

Housing in the form of a bunkhouse will be available.  All rooms are double occupancy.  While dormitories may be co-ed, we generally put same sex roommates together.  Dorms include use of the kitchen, living room, bathroom and laundry facilities.
