Cultural Resource Intern (PO-00735711)

Cultural Resources Intern supporting the 1-person cultural resource program at Fort Leavenworth, the oldest continuously operating military installation west of the Mississippi with historical assets dating to 1827 as well as pre-Columbus Native American sites.  Fort Leavenworth contains the largest inventory of pre-1919 historic quarters and government buildings.  The cultural resources program manages the documentation and Section 106 compliance for these structures, oversees 53 archeological sites, curates artifacts from pre-Columbus period and the era of Westward Expansion at 3 museums and manages a limited on-going NAGPRA action.  The intern position will assist in each of these areas both in the field and in physical and digital data and document management.
Living and Housing Allowance $600 per week ($600 per week to cover living allowance as well as housing expenses of $1,250.00 per month)
Relocation Travel $1,100 one time

This position qualifies for an AmeriCorps Education Award.
