Cultural Landscapes Internship (Pre-Select) (PO-00735811)

This full-time SCA internship will work with the National Capital Region's Preservation Services team and park staff to create a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) focused on the historic roads and trails of Manassas National Battlefield. The intern will work to create a historic context of the historic roads and trails, an analysis and evaluation, GIS mapping, photography of current conditions with a conditions assessment, and treatment recommendations for the preservation of these resources.

Day-to-day responsibilities include: conducting archival research at the park and other institutions (25%); conducting field work and managing photographic and GPS Equipment(25%); Writing historical contexts and analysis(40%); Writing treatment recommendations (10%). 

Compensation:

  • $725 / week living allowance
