The funding for this project will allow the Camp Nelson National Monument (CANE) to implement in the Facilities and Maintenace Division at a new NPS area through the efforts of 3 Interns who will work alongside members of the park partner organization who has conducted visitor services up to 2021.
The Maintenance and Facilities will assist park staff with maintaining the grounds, to include clearing trails of felled branches and debris; cleaning the visitor center and barracks buildings; cutting grass (trails) and weed-eating grass and brash at the base of interpretive waysides; and setting up and breaking down tents, tables, and other items for special events and programs.
Compensation:
- One-time travel allowance: $1,100 once (personal vehicle required)
- Weekly living allowance: $530 / week
- Monthly housing allowance: $700 / month
