Your responsibilities will include: Helping in the Park nursery, propagating and transplanting native plants for restoration, controlling alien plant invasions using mechanical and chemical means and hiking and camping in remote backcountry locations Monday through Friday. Other duties may include monitoring native species. This position requires that applicants be physically fit and able to work in challenging outdoor conditions.
Compensation amounts:
- $1,300 – one time RT travel allowance
- $450 – weekly living allowance
- $1,375 – duty related travel (available for local intern selections to use for commuting costs)
- Housing may or may not be available. Please inquire about this with the hiring official.
- AmeriCorps eligible ($1,824.07 Education Award)

Housing is not guaranteed but based on availability which varies seasonally. Park housing consists of apartments; each unit houses two people with private bed/bath and shared kitchen/living space. A laundry facility is located next door for residents in park housing. Park housing is in the service area next door to the Resources Management Office.
