Conduct wildlife and exotic plant species control, conduct wildlife and forest surveys, assist refuge management staff with administrative duties and provide some maintenance of refuge facilities and grounds. Some formal environmental education programs may be delivered on the refuges and in area classrooms. The activities will include surveys of red-cockaded woodpecker roosts and nesting activity. Work may include operation of ATV’s or UTV’s and may include riding in airboats and other watercraft. Operation of a refuge vehicle is required. Environmental education programs may include intensive, hands-on programs on the refuges, as well as classroom presentations in schools throughout metropolitan New Orleans and its suburbs. Maintenance may include repairs to kiosks, replacement of brochures, cleanup and mowing.
Living Allowance: $125 per week
