Arabia Mountain Summer Crew (YA)
The Arabia Mountain Crew is a young adult crew located at Arabia Mountain Nature Reserve. This crew is a safe space for people of color/BIPOC, to learn, grow, and gain new technical skills. The crew will be working on projects such as invasive species removal, habitat restoration, litter abatement, and trail work in various sites throughout Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve. Leaders will guide and help train members with hand and power tool use, equipment maintenance, trail maintenance and construction, Justice Equity Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) training, emotional first aid, plant and tree identification, urban forestry basics, and more. Leaders will be responsible for incorporating the environmental education curriculum. Project monitoring and data collection will also be required throughout the season.
Members will receive training in the following:
- Professional and leadership development (I.e. resume building, career exploration), indigenous knowledge, plant, and tree identification.
- Hand and power tool use, equipment maintenance, trail maintenance and construction, Justice Equity Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) training, emotional first aid, plant and tree identification, urban forestry basics, and more.
Pay For Members: 15.00 hourly rate. (Bi-Weekly)
Members will work 32 hours per week:
Monday-Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
