The Hearst Foundations are national philanthropic resources for organizations working in the fields of culture, education, health and social services. The Hearst Foundations identify and fund outstanding nonprofits to ensure that people of all backgrounds in the United States have the opportunity to build healthy, productive and inspiring lives. The William Randolph Hearst Foundation supports SCA’s Community Program model as a vehicle to advance youth who are under-represented in the conservation field along SCA’s continuum of conservation service opportunities and on to stewardship roles and careers in conservation. This national initiative supports SCA’s youth development training through hands-on conservation service to develop leadership, team-building skills, and preparedness for the green jobs market while increasing diversity in the conservation service arena.
