On December 16, 2019 the SCA partnered with Timberland, RootDown LA and NBA in Los Angeles to restore a community garden space at local middle School. In total, there were 102 volunteers and SCA alumni leaders who supported several urban greening projects, while Timberland and NBA Cares outfitted middle school students with new shoes. For more than 20 years, Timberland has supported SCA in building the next generation of conservation leaders across the country. From backcountry projects in Alaska to urban restoration in Houston, Timberland has outfitted AmeriCorps and other SCA members with boots to engage in all types of park and green space restoration.
