Celebrating Veterans Through Service in Phoenix

Join SCA to celebrate our Veterans through a day of volunteer service in Phoenix at Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.

Phoenix’s Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area is a 600-acre park along the historic Salt River. Located less then two miles from downtown Phoenix, the Center is a gateway to a lush Sonoran riparian habitat that is home to over 200 species of birds and other wildlife.

On November 8th, in celebration of Veterans Day, SCA and dozens of volunteers will work to improve the health of this fragile ecosystem by planting native species, removing invasive plants, and clearing trash and debris from the area.

WHEN: Saturday, November 8th 2014. 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

WHERE: Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, 2439 S. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Parking is available on site. SCA representatives will meet volunteers at the parking area.

WHAT TO BRING: Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long-sleeved shirts. Please also bring your own water bottle! Breakfast and lunch will be provided by SCA.
