Trails Day Service at Hudson River Park, New York, NY

The SCA Hudson Valley AmeriCorps program provides ten-month internships across the Hudson Valley region of New York. Each year, members of the Hudson Valley Corps come together to complete dozens of service projects at sites from Saratoga Springs to New York City.

On Saturday, June 6th, Hudson Valley members and alumni will partner with the Hudson River Park Trust to hold a service event at Hudson River Park on Manhattan’s West Side in celebration of National Trails Day. Participants will be defining the trails in the park’s Habitat Garden and expanding the path to create a new gathering space.

WHEN: Saturday, June 6th, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

WHERE: Hudson River Park, Pier 66 (Chelsea), W. 26th Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10001

WHAT: Expanding trails in the park’s Habitat Garden and removing invasive species

WHO: SCA Hudson Valley Corps members and alumni (due to space limitations, this project is not open to the general public)

BRING WITH YOU: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. SCA will provide work gloves, reusable water bottles, and lunch for volunteers.
