Trails Day Hike on the San Francisco Bay Trail, Hayward, CA

Celebrate National Trails Day by hitting the trail with fellow SCA alumni in the Bay Area! This hike is organized by members of SCA’s young alumni council as a way to further engage SCA alumni in the Bay Area and build continued connections to the great outdoors.

Hayward Regional Shoreline consists of 1,811 acres of salt, fresh, and brackish marshes, seasonal wetlands, and public trails. We will bring field guides and binoculars to explore the bird species that live in the marshland and along the shoreline.

WHEN: Saturday, June 6th, 9:30 am 

WHERE: San Francisco Bay Trail, Hayward Regional Shoreline, East Bay Regional Parks. Meet at parking lot at the end of the road at 3010 W. Winton Ave., Hayward, CA 94545.

WHAT: A day of hiking with SCA’s young alumni! 4-5 mile hike along flat gravel paths. All ages welcome. Dogs not allowed.

WHO: Alums who have served with SCA as interns, corps members, crew members, crew leaders, staff, or volunteers anywhere in the country! Current members and families also welcome.

BRING WITH YOU: Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water.
