SCA Seattle Creates Healthy Forests

Recurring Monthly Events

Volunteer alongside the current cohort of SCA’s Conservation Leadership Corps members as they work to restore healthy habitat in Seattle with monthly service events at Maplewood Playfield! Every second Saturday, SCA crew members will volunteer to connect with the community and contribute to improving the local ecosystem. Come join them to help remove thickets of invasive Himalayan Blackberry and mats of English ivy, plant and maintain native plants in their place, and help the park to thrive.

WHERE: Maplewood Playfield, 4801 Corson Ave S, Seattle, WA 98119. 10am-2pm. 

WHAT: Volunteers will plant and maintain native plants restoring critical habitat.

WHO: SCA alumni, current members, family, friends, and community members of all ages are welcome.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably work boots or sturdy sneakers, and bring a reusable water bottle. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!

PROVIDED: SCA will provide coffee and hearty snacks for all volunteers, as well as project materials and gloves.
