Join SCA and MUFG Union Bank on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH to restore the Oakland City Stables!

Since the establishment of Global Volunteer Month in 2013, MUFG employees all over the world have been working together on initiatives to host local contribution activities. SCA is proud to be a partner in this endeavor by facilitating opportunities for MUFG employees, family, and friends to engage in team-based service projects in 8 different cities. The projects will focus on some of the most urgent conservation needs in underserved urban communities.

The Oakland City Stables, managed by the City of Oakland Parks & Recreation, offers 7 acres of public green space in the Oakland Hills. The Stables provide a range of programming to the Bay Area community including free programs for Oakland youth and therapeutic riding programs for US Military Veterans. The site also encompasses other historic and cultural resources including a community garden and historic hacienda estate buildings dating from the early 1900s. Many of the site’s historic barns and outbuildings have been closed for decades due to fire damage or disrepair. MUFG Union Bank employees will join SCA volunteers to restore these spaces and help reopen them to the community.

WHEN: Saturday, November 18th, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registration & breakfast beginning at 9:00 am, kickoff at 9:30. Work will conclude at 12:00 with lunch to follow.
