Please join the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and the City of Gary in kicking off the fall planting season by planting 25 native trees in Brunswick Park on Saturday, September 14th!
Plant trees in the morning and stay afterward to meet your neighbors and enjoy an Ice Cream Social hosted by The Field Museum with ice cream provided by Good Scoops!
WHEN: Saturday, September 14th, 9:00 am to Noon. Registration beginning at 8:30 am, kick-off at 9:00 am.
WHERE: Park in the lots outside of the Brunswick Center near the baseball diamond. Drive into the lot using the road next to Gary Fire Station No. 9. Look for the Student Conservation Association work truck and trailer as well as the blue pop up tent!
WHAT: Volunteers will plant, mulch, and water native trees.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
PROVIDED: All project supplies (tools, gloves, etc.) are provided. Drinking water and coffee will be available throughout the event.
