Pittsburgh: Kids’ Day of Service with Whole Foods & SCA

Join us September 14!

Join SCA and Whole Foods Market for a day of volunteer service at The Environemental Charter School at Frick Park in Pittsburgh. The Environmental Charter School is the first environmentally themed public K-8 school in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. Students learn to be critical thinkers and well-rounded scholars by using environmental content to build core skills across all disciplines. The school’s Garden is nestled in a beautiful Frick Park. Volunteers will work to weatherize the school garden, maintain Frick Park trails, and remove invasive plants.  

When: Saturday, September 14th, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Where: The Environmental Charter School at Frick Park (829 Milton Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15218)

What: Mulching, invasive removal and trail projects

Bring with you: Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We will provide light snacks and lunch for all volunteers as well as gloves and water bottles.

Schedule:

10:00 am: Arrival, registraton, introductions

10:30 am – 12:30 pm: PROJECT WORK

12:30 – 1:00 pm: Wrap up and Lunch
