Join the Student Conservation Association and American Eagle Outfitters to help restore one of New Orleans’ historic landmarks! On April 19th, dozens of volunteers will be pitching in to restore and protect Chalmette National Cemetery as part of the HeART This City nationwide tour.

WHEN: Saturday, April 19th: 10:00am – 4:00pm
WHERE: Chalmette National Cemetery, 8606 West St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA 70043. Enter the park and continue down Chalmette National Cemetery Rd to the visitor center. Park rangers will be on site to assist you with finding a parking spot and direct you to the registration check-in.
WHAT: Transforming a New Orleans landmark! Volunteers will work to clean and refurbish Chalmette National Cemetery and its 16,000 gravestones.
BRING WITH YOU: Wear long pants and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. All project materials will be provided.
PROVIDED: SCA will provide breakfast and lunch for volunteers as well as a limited-edition “HeART This City” t-shirt and water bottle. At the event you can register for the chance to win a trip to one of the other service projects SCA will be hosting throughout the country!
