Work day at Rattlesnake Recreation Area, Sawmill Gulch Trailhead

Join the Student Conservation Association and the Montana Conservation Corps, REI, National Forest Foundation, Mountain Bike Missoula and Lolo National Forest to celebrate National Public Lands Day at Sawmill Gulch in the Rattlesnake Recreation AreaMeet SCA Alumni Council member, Betsy DeFries, and other SCA alumni and park volunteers as you help with various maintenance projects within the Sawmill Gulch area including digging a scenic mountain bike re-route and naturalizing the old trail.

WHEN: September 27th, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

WHERE: Rattlesnake National Recreation Area, Sawmill Gulch Trailhead. Parking is limited at the Sawmill Gulch Trailhead; shuttle service will be available from the main Rattlesnake Trailhead to Sawmill Gulch Trailhead. Click here for directions to trailhead. 

WHAT: We will be digging a scenic mountain bike re-route and naturalizing the old trail.

WHO:  Everyone! All ages!!

THINGS TO BRING: Clothes for rain or shine, warm and cold. Sturdy shoes. Sunscreen. Sunglasses. Hat.

FOOD: Lunch will be provided.
