SCA invites you to celebrate the winter with a day of service in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. The Bay Area SCA has a long history of participating in service to our community on this day, and this year we are happy to be partnering with Golden Gate Parks Conservancy. Use your day off as a day on and celebrate the holiday by helping restore your National Park.

We will be joining SCA’s local community high school program and the Teens on Trails program at Muir Woods. Projects include trail maintenance and habitat restoration along some of the most scenic trails in the park. No experience necessary. Friends & family of SCA alumni are welcome; youth must be ages 14 and up.

To join us for the day, please call 510-832-1966 x303 or email [email protected] and let me know if you would like to carpool. Directions below. I hope to see you there.

What to bring: Tools, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, long pants, close-toed shoes, layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary. Also, bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.

Directions: Muir Woods is located 11 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Take Highway 101 to the Highway 1/ Stinson Beach Exit. Follow the signs to Muir Woods. Roads to the park are steep and winding. Parking space is very limited and fills quickly on most days. We encourage alumni to carpool. Please mention in RSVP where you are coming from and if you can drive or need a ride. Meet at the entrance station of Muir Woods.
