Join us as we team up with the Richmond Greenway, Urban Tilth, and the Watershed Project to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day through service at the Richmond Greenway Bioswale!
Learn about how rain gardens and bioswales filter street run-off, while building a new rain garden and making improvements to the Richmond Greenway Bioswale.
WHEN: Monday, January 19th, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
WHERE: Richmond Greenway Bioswale, 8th Street between Ohio and Chanslor Ave, Richmond, CA 94804.
WHAT: Volunteers will be building a new rain garden, planting rushes and additional species in an existing bioswale, landscaping the native habitat garden, removing weeds and sheet mulching, and helping with trash clean-up.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable layers, and bring work gloves and a water bottle. Snacks will be provided.
