MLK Day Food Drive in Manchester, NH

SCA is joining forces with AmeriCorps programs across the state, as well as the Corporation for National and Community Service to feed New Hampshire’s Hungry in honor of MLK Day.

The “Hunger Doesn’t End After the Holidays” food drive will collect nonperishable food items throughout the month of January for the NH Food Bank, which serves over 130,000 people across the state. The drive aims to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy by collecting 6,000 pounds of food for the NH Food Bank

 

  • Who: SCA members and alumni, representatives from AmeriCorps and the Corporation for National and Community Service
  • What: “Hunger Doesn’t End After the Holidays” – a two-part food drive in honor of MLK Day in which SCA members and alumni will distribute door hangers on January 16th with food drive collection information. Manchester residents who receive a door hangar on MLK Day can leave a bag of nonperishable food items on their doorstep for pickup by SCA members on January 21st.
  • When: Monday, January 16, 2012 – 1:00 pm – distribute MLK Door Hangers with Food Drive collection information.
  • Where: Meet at Hillside Middle School, 112 Reservoir Avenue
