LOS ANGELES, CA: SCA Earth Day at Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve

This April, SCA is hosting 60 projects for Earth Day in honor of 60 years of SCA

With national support from Southwest Airlines and American Express, we are aiming to connect our members, alumni, friends, and partners across the country to create a nationwide network of Earth Month celebrations.

In Los Angeles, volunteers will participate in invasive removal at Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve in partnership with Friends of Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve. Join us to ConSERVE this local green space and preserve its beauty for future generations to enjoy!


WHEN: Tuesday, April 17th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

WHERE: Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve, 1202 West 170th St, Gardena, CA 90247.  (One block North of Artesia Blvd, between Normandie and Vermont Ave and behind Arthur Johnson Memorial Park.)

WHAT: Volunteers will remove invasive passion vine and ivy. 

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!

PROVIDED: All project materials, tools, and gloves will be provided.
