Day of Service with Union Bank & SCA
Join Union Bank and the Student Conservation Association (SCA) on Saturday, February 9th to help with the upkeep of Chicano Park with City of San Diego Parks and Recreation!
Located in San Diego’s Barrio Logan neighborhood, Chicano Park is the heart of the area. The park spans seven acres and houses more than 80 mural paintings. This National Historic Landmark is an integral part of the community, where many gather for picnics, festivals, and more. Union Bank and SCA have teamed up to help with the upkeep of this landmark.
WHEN: Saturday, February 9th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
WHERE: Paradise Senior Center, 1880 Logan Ave, San Diego, 92113.
Public transit and carpooling are encouraged. Take public transit to Stop ID: 10876, Logan Ave & Cesar Chavez Pkwy. Limited parking is available at the senior center. Ample street parking is available as well as two other parking lots at the North and South end of Chicano Park.
WHAT: Volunteers will help with mulching, invasive removal, painting projects, garden beautification, and plantings.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting paint on or dirty.
PROVIDED: SCA will provide light morning snacks and lunch for all volunteers, as well as reusable water bottles. Gloves and all project supplies will also be provided.
