Celebrate National Public Lands Day with SCA

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) and National Park Service (NPS) have teamed up to celebrate National Public Lands Day at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park (NHP) on Saturday, September, 28th!

We welcome SCA alumni, family, and friends to come out to meet and socialize with SCA Founder Liz Putnam and help to restore Faulkner Trail at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP. The museum, gardens and other parts of the park will be open for those who wish to further explore this extraordinary site.

 


WHEN: Saturday, September 28th, 9:00am to 1:00pm. Registration and breakfast beginning at 9:00am with welcome remarks at 9:30am. Project concludes at 12:30pm with lunch to follow.

WHERE: Billings Farm and Museum, 69 Old River Rd, Woodstock, VT 05091. Parking is available on site at Billings Farm and Museum. Once parked, follow directional signage to a grassy area between the Mansion and Belvedere for registration and opening welcome remarks.

WHAT: SCA alumni, family, and friends will restore eroded sections of Faulkner Trail with cribbing, fill-in and other work. Volunteers will also assist with the general maintenance of the trail.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Water coolers will be available, but please bring your own reusable water bottles to fill up at the cooling stations. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!

PROVIDED: All project supplies (tools, gloves, etc.), breakfast, and lunch are provided.
