Governors Island Community Volunteer Day

Saturday, September 22, 2018 - September 22, 2018 10:00 am

Brought to you by the Friends of Governors Island and the Student Conservation Association, with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies.

In honor of the 25th National Public Lands Day, we invite you to Governors Island for a day of digging in the dirt! Help us get prepared for fall by tackling our most urgent landscape needs: clearing pathways, ridding plantings of invasive species, blending soil, mulching trees, cutting back overgrowth, and much more! With a very modest budget for horticulture, we rely on volunteers to maintain our diverse landscapes for everyone to enjoy.

Join us for a rewarding day of gardening and giving back. This event is kid-friendly, so bring the whole family!
