Join SCA for Earth Day to give back to DC’s public lands and help preserve Greenbelt National Park. With the support of American Express and in support of the Find Your Park campaign, SCA is mobilizing volunteers coast to coast in celebration of the National Park Service Centennial. Join us as we serve DC’s National Parks!

Situated just outside the National Capital beltway, Greenbelt Park is known for its accessibility and peaceful surroundings. The park features a 174-site campground, nine miles of trails, and three picnic areas. It provides a great way for local residents to get out and explore our shared public lands.

Free lunch and t-shirts will be provided for all volunteers!

WHEN: Saturday, April 30th, 9:30 am to 2:00 pm 

WHERE: Greenbelt Park, 6565 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt, MD 20770. The site is accessible by the Greenbelt Metro stop (Green/Yellow lines). Registration and kick-off will take place at the Sweetgum Picnic Area.

***Free volunteer shuttles will depart from the Greenbelt Metro stop (Green/Yellow lines) at 9:00am and return to the Metro following the event.***

WHAT: Clearing trash and debris, removing invasive plants, painting Park Service buildings and constructing picnic tables. This work will help to preserve the park and recreational area for all residents and visitors.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably work boots or sturdy sneakers, and bring a reusable water bottle. Event will take place rain or shine so please dress appropriately for the weather!

PROVIDED: SCA will provide lunch and snacks for all volunteers, as well as project materials, gloves, and free Find Your Park t-shirts!
