Environmental Justice and Advocacy. What can we do to be change-makers?
Fifth Fridays is brought to you by the SCA Alumni Council. Through this webinar series we will be featuring our accomplished and expert alumni or friends of SCA to speak about a variety of topics that are trending. For our October 30 event, the alumni asked to learn more about environmental justice and youth activism.
Lana Weidgenant is an environmental and climate activist. She serves as Deputy Director for the youth climate justice organization Zero Hour and as Outreach Director in National Children’s Campaign. She is working alongside other young leaders to organize Vote4OurFuture, a joint campaign between Zero Hour and the National Children’s Campaign to increase voter turnout and encourage across generations to vote on behalf of young people who need climate action and environmental justice. In the climate movement, Lana has led in bringing the youth climate strikes to the United States and in addressing the impacts of agriculture and food in the climate crisis.
