Fifth Fridays 2021 – Environmental Stewardship Webinar

Friday, January 29, 2021 - January 29, 2021 12:00 pm

Fifth Fridays is a webinar series brought to you by the SCA Alumni Council. We feature our accomplished alumni or friends of SCA to speak about a variety of trending topics. This webinar is open to alumni, current and former staff, partners, supports of SCA or anyone interested in learning more about conservation values.

For our January 29 event, we will speak on the topic of environmental stewardship, as voted on by previous registrants.

We have decided to break this very broad topic down with two different expert perspectives from SCA alumni on environmental stewardship.

Patricio Portillo is a Transportation Analyst with the National Resources Defense Council. Previously, he served as a Policy Analyst for the National Governors Association. Patricio will speak about the policy and advocacy side of environmental stewardship and how people can get more involved even from the comfort of their homes.

Jacob Smith is a former Wilderness Fellow who has done research in the Tongass National Forest with the Society for Wilderness Stewardship and US Forest Service. He is an environmental educator who has served at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium and for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. He will speak about how our personal experiences correlate to our stewardship of the wilderness.
